One of the first visible signs of RGNT’s transformation has now opened to the public. A new six-metre-wide sidewalk along Regeringsgatan is improving accessibility, enhancing the streetscape and offering a first glimpse of how RGNT will contribute to a more welcoming and connected city centre.

As RGNT moves closer to completion, the project is beginning to make a visible impact beyond the building itself. The opening of the new sidewalk along Regeringsgatan marks the first completed element of a broader transformation designed to improve the pedestrian experience and strengthen connections through the neighbourhood.

Designed to create a more welcoming and connected city environment, the widened sidewalk introduces new seating areas and improved pedestrian movement through the neighbourhood. Additional landscaping will be added in the coming months, further enhancing the experience of the surrounding public realm.The opening marks an important step in the evolution of RGNT, a project that will bring together offices, residences, retail and restaurants in the heart of Stockholm.

“The transformation of the streetscape is an important and visible step for us. People can now begin to experience parts of the change we are creating. The new, wider sidewalk is a tangible example of how RGNT will contribute to a more accessible and welcoming city centre. For us, the project is not only about the building itself, but also about how the block connects with the city and the people who move through it every day,” says Kristin Willerström, Senior Regional Director, Nordics at Pembroke.

Opening up the city
The improvements are part of Pembroke’s long-term commitment to strengthening connections across central Stockholm and creating places that encourage people to spend more time in the city.

Another major milestone will follow this autumn when the construction hoarding along Mäster Samuelsgatan is removed. In its place, a new wider sidewalk with newly planted trees and additional seating will further open up the streetscape and improve the pedestrian experience around RGNT.

To mark the progress of the project, Pembroke recently welcomed the Mayor of Stockholm Karin Wanngård and invited guests to the site. With completion expected in October 2026, RGNT is now entering its final phase of development.
“I attended the groundbreaking ceremony for RGNT in 2023, and it is fantastic to now see the results. Stockholm city centre has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, and much of that progress is thanks to the collaborative efforts of many property owners working together towards a common goal,” says Karin Wanngård.

A long-term commitment to Stockholm the streetscape improvements around RGNT build on more than a decade of investment by Pembroke in central Stockholm. Since 2015, Pembroke has worked alongside the City of Stockholm to strengthen connections between key destinations, create new meeting places and contribute to a more attractive and vibrant city centre.

This work includes projects such as Mästerhuset and Smålandstorget, where new retail, restaurants and pedestrian routes have helped connect different parts of the city and create a stronger urban experience.

With offices expected to welcome occupiers from the end of 2026 and the remaining elements opening throughout 2027, RGNT is moving closer to becoming one of Stockholm’s most significant mixed-use developments.
