10 Finsbury Square Reopens
Following the structural issue identified on 16 July, assessment and remedial works have been completed by our contractor team, and the building reopened on 1st September 2016
On 16 July 2016 a structural connection failed, leading to movement of a steel beam at 10 Finsbury Square. The failure was isolated to the one location. Safety was our top priority, so the building was closed with immediate effect and independent consultants appointed to support the building’s contractor, Sir Robert McAlpine, with a comprehensive investigation and repairs. The steel beam was reinstated and although no further structural elements of the building had failed, further investigations identified that additional strengthening work was required.
The work has now been completed and signed off by Sir Robert McAlpine and their sub-contractors, the independent consultants, and MLM, the approved Building Control inspector. The building was reopened on the 1st September 2016 and we would like to thank our tenants for their patience and understanding.
