We’re pleased to announce luxury watchmaker OMEGA is the latest retailer to sign a the recently redeveloped premium mixed-use building, 20 Martin Place.
OMEGA has leased the in-demand, last remaining retail tenancy at the landmark building. Set over two levels, it will be positioned as the brand’s flagship Australian store, benefiting from an OMEGA service centre on site, as well as the prime location and views across prestigious Martin Place.
Set to open its doors in the 2nd half of 2016, OMEGA will join fellow premium brands Tesla and ANZ at 20 Martin Place.
Following its transformation from an early 1970s building to striking state of the art property, construction of the new Sydney landmark was completed in September last year. 20 Martin Place recently earned a coveted Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) 6 Star Green Star Award, the GBCA’s highest standard acknowledging world leadership in environmentally sustainable building practices.
OMEGA’s commitment brings the property to 79% leased following strong demand from office tenants throughout 2015. Hogan Lovells, REGUS, Acadian Asset Management and Providence Wealth Advisory Group are among a host of high calibre office tenants taking up residency within the building this year.
Located in the heart of the city’s Central Business District, 20 Martin Place offers 19,200 sq m of prime grade commercial office and retail space over 21 levels. It features a new high-performance façade, new building systems and technology, a reconfiguration of the building core to create more efficient, flexible and larger office floor plates and prime retail along Martin Place and Pitt Street.
Jack Clark, Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific, Pembroke said: We are delighted to welcome OMEGA and its luxury watch offering to 20 Martin Place as this means we are 100% let in terms of the building’s retail offer. With a prime retail location, 20 Martin Place was designed to appeal to premium brands, and shoppers will be excited by the dynamic mix of retailers opening in 2016
We worked with local architects Crone Partners and the international team of James Carpenter Design Associates on the redevelopment, and Australian construction company Built led construction efforts. The building’s environmentally sustainable design will deliver tangible long-term economic and tenant benefits. As such it has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star – Office As Built v3 certified rating, from the Green Building Council of Australia which represents ‘World Leadership’ in environmentally sustainable building practices. An example of 20 Martin Place’s innovation is the use of lighting; it is one of Sydney’s first commercial office buildings to be delivered with LED light fittings installed to all office floors. This has resulted in an average lighting power density of 1.34W/100 lux, or an 11% improvement on the Green Star benchmark.
