Pembroke secures spaces in Melbourne’s T&G Building
Pembroke Real Estate today announced the signing of flexible workspace provider Spaces at the T&G Building at 161 Collins Street in Melbourne.
Spaces, continuing to expand its footprint in Australia, has signed a 10-year lease across levels one and two of the T&G Building. This leasing agreement comes as Pembroke completes the final stages of a refurbishment at the T&G Building, which commenced in January 2017.
Due for completion in February 2018, the building will present 43,000 square metres of prime grade commercial office and retail space, enhanced by a reconfigured atrium and expansive floorplates up to 4,000 square metres.
Pembroke’s Vice President and Head of Australia, Matthew Knight, said that signing Spaces was a testament to the quality of the asset as a prestigious office precinct.
Pembroke recognizes that flexible workspace is a market of growing importance within the real estate and entrepreneurial communities. Spaces, together with our exceptional mix of luxury retail including Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Versace, and long-term commercial tenants like Accenture and IOOF, will help create a vibrant and creative community at the T&G Building.
Spaces prides itself on creating an environment for people to succeed, which is in line with our commitment to creating valuable places for our tenants and the wider Melbourne community.
Martijn Roordink, Co-Founder of Spaces said, Opening our third location in Australia is very exciting. Melbourne was one of the first cities outside of Amsterdam where we we started our global journey. To be opening a large flagship of Spaces in this area of Melbourne is an amazing addition to our portfolio.
Damien Sheehan, Country Head of Australia & New Zealand, Spaces said, The T&G Building is exactly the type of office space we require to deliver on our philosophy and approach to collaborative working.
The position of the building at the Paris end of the Melbourne CBD, the appeal to various target markets, and a direct connection to Flinders Lane all played a significant role in attracting Spaces to the T&G Building.
Colliers National Director of Operations, Adam Raap, said while it would be the third Spaces premises in Australia, it will be the first major local flagship space for the global, professional workspace provider.
Spaces currently operates in almost 80 locations around the world with tenants including Uber and Paypal.
