{"id":2484,"date":"2017-10-05T14:06:00","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T14:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pembroke.com\/?p=2484"},"modified":"2023-11-15T14:19:42","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T14:19:42","slug":"20-martin-place-fully-leased","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pembroke.com\/news\/20-martin-place-fully-leased\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a020 Martin Place fully leased"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We have announced our premium mixed-use building at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pembroke.com\/asia-pacific\/australia\/sydney\/20-martin-place\/\" data-type=\"portfolio\" data-id=\"3207\">20 Martin Place<\/a> is fully leased, with the signing of cloud-based technology provider, LogMeIn.\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The LogMeIn tenancy sits alongside anchor tenants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/business\/companies\/apple-latest-tech-company-to-call-martin-place-home-20150722-giibmb.html\">Apple<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcgrathnicol.com\/what-we-do\/\">McGrath Nicol and Regus<\/a>, other international companies such as<a href=\"https:\/\/www0.mfs.com\/en-au\/institutions-and-consultants\/about-mfs\/our-history.html\"> MFS<\/a> and Vanguard, and ground floor retail tenants <a href=\"https:\/\/anz.banklocationmaps.com.au\/en\/branch\/339117-anz-branch-20-martin-place\">ANZ<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/findus\/location\/store\/sydneymartinplace\">Tesla<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omegawatches.com\/en-us\/store\/storedetails\/7341\">Omega<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LogMeIn, a leader in cloud-based technology, has secured a five-year lease across the top two levels at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pembroke.com\/asia-pacific\/australia\/sydney\/20-martin-place\/\" data-type=\"portfolio\" data-id=\"3207\">20 Martin Place<\/a>. With a combined floor space of 1,620 sq m, the office space on floors 19 and 20 will act as the company\u2019s new Sydney headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Matthew Knight, Vice President and Head of Australia said \u201c<\/strong>Since completion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pembroke.com\/asia-pacific\/australia\/sydney\/20-martin-place\/\" data-type=\"portfolio\" data-id=\"3207\">20 Martin Place<\/a> has continued to attract premium international brands, establishing itself as one of the most desirable addresses in the CBD. Sean Ford, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, LogMeIn, continued,&nbsp;<\/strong>LogMeIn\u2019s merger with Citrix\u2019s GoTo business has created one of the world\u2019s top ten Software-as-a-Service companies, a market leader in some of tech\u2019s most desirable markets, and an incredibly talented team here in Sydney and across the world. We believe Australia offers a natural and favorable base for our growing Asia Pacific business, and Sydney\u2019s innovation scene is highly advantageous to attracting and supporting our rapidly expanding customer base. We believe this move to 20 Martin Place is a key to this regional growth strategy and will, for the first time, bring together our Australian teams into a common regional headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pembroke.com\/asia-pacific\/australia\/sydney\/20-martin-place\/\" data-type=\"portfolio\" data-id=\"3207\">20 Martin Place<\/a> opened its doors in Q3 of 2015 following its full transformation from an early 1970s building to a state of the art mixed-use property. The 19,200 sq m of prime grade commercial office and retail space exists over 21 levels, in the heart of Sydney\u2019s Central Business District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The building features a high-performance fa\u00e7ade, new building systems and technology, a reconfiguration of the building core to create more efficient, flexible and larger office floor plates and prime retail along Martin Place and Pitt Street. A notable highlight is the signature banded dichroic glass profile that gathers and reflects ambient skylight, illuminating the building in constantly changing colors that reflect the sun\u2019s movement. 20 Martin Place achieved a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbca.org.au\/docs\/Introduction%20to%20Green%20Star%20-%20Office%20Design%20v3%20and%20Green%20Star%20-%20Office%20As%20Built%20v3.pdf\">5 Star Green Star Office Design v3 rating<\/a> as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/new.gbca.org.au\/green-star\/rating-system\/design-and-built\/\">6 Star Green Star Office As Built v3,<\/a> and is targeting a minimum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nabers.gov.au\/about\/what-nabers\">5 Star NABERS energy rating<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jenine Cranston, Senior Director at CBRE said,&nbsp;<\/strong>CBRE formed a trusted partnership with Pembroke for this project, working together from pre-purchase to 100 per cent leased. The leasing took place in a very competitive market, so we had to capitalise on 20 Martin Place\u2019s highly distinctive elements. The highly crafted nature of the asset, with its sculptural fa\u00e7ade, excellent natural light and its world\u2019s best practice sustainability credentials were also major drawcards. We have committed several multi-floor tenants to the building, including two global tech firms \u2013 one to the lower six floors and now LogMeIn, in the top two floors. Alongside these, the building has proved appealing to a particularly broad range of business sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The glass fa\u00e7ade was recently used as a reflective performance space for\u00a0<em>Bandaloop<\/em>, part of the City of Sydney\u2019s Art &amp; About creative calendar. This artistic installation saw dancers suspended from the roof, gliding across the vertical surfaces to perform a \u2018sideways dance\u2019 viewed by onlookers from street level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Matthew Knight continued:&nbsp;<\/strong>Martin Place plays a key role in Sydney\u2019s CBD, where the city\u2019s vibrant corporate and creative cultures meet.
