Built was awarded the contract following a competitive process <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The process which included four leading national construction companies, Built<\/a> was selected based upon strength of team and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice President and Head of Australia, Matthew Knight, said:\u00a0<\/strong>We are delighted to have appointed Built<\/a> for the T&G Building<\/a>, given their proven ability to deliver high quality office and retail spaces within a heritage context. We have an established relationship with Built through our 20 Martin Place<\/a> development in Sydney, which we are looking forward to continuing as work gets underway at the T&G Building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally constructed in 1928, the T&G Building is located on the corner of Collins and Russel Streets, at the Paris-end of Collins Street, and offers 43,000 square metres of A-Grade commercial space across ten levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working alongside appointed architects Bates Smart<\/a>, Built will carry out the refurbishment works at the T&G Building including refashioning the office floors to include intelligent design and imaginative shared spaces. A dynamic new dual entrance will allow tenants to choose between the classic entry on Collins Street or the newly pedestrianized Ramsden Place, both maximising the corporate address while welcoming Melbourne\u2019s unique laneway culture into the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, businesses will have the opportunity to secure campus style floor plates of up to 4,000 square metres, and embrace flexibility, productivity and connectivity within their workplace design. New end-of-trip facilities also will be included with 266 secure bicycle spaces for tenants as well as extensive shower and locker facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership between Pembroke and Built for 20 Martin Place<\/a> has resulted in nine awards including the 2016 Master Builders NSW Excellence in Construction Award. Built has also won the National President\u2019s Award and National MBA Awards for National Environment and Energy Efficiency \u2013 Commercial Buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with our commitment to sustainability, the T&G Building will undergo a significant building services review, targeting a 4.5 star NABERS Energy rating and the refurbishment of the building will begin in the first quarter of 2017 with construction completed by early 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
